# US Venture Capital Firms Backing Robotics, by Stage (168 Firms, 2026)

TL;DR
- 168 of the 175 US venture capital firms Qubit’s research places in robotics have a documented stage. All of them file with the [SEC](https://www.sec.gov/data-research/sec-markets-data/information-about-registered-investment-advisers-exempt-reporting-advisers).
- Firms per stage: Pre-seed 95, Seed 137, Early stage (Series A–B) 97, Growth and later 75.
- Stage and sector are drawn from Qubit’s investor research. A firm with no documented stage is omitted, not guessed at.

Sorted by size, robotics opens with Lightspeed Venture Partners Israel at $50.0 billion. That ordering helps nobody raising an early round.

These firms also back AI, Cybersecurity and Enterprise SaaS. Seattle is home to 1.93 times its usual share of them. A focused mandate covers 1 of them, at three sectors or fewer.

As a share of all documented US firms, that comes to 10.8 percent. 137 of the 168 spread their cheques across multiple stages.

## How the list was assembled

[SEC Form ADV filings](https://www.sec.gov/data-research/sec-markets-data/information-about-registered-investment-advisers-exempt-reporting-advisers) dated 1 July 2026 supply all 175 firms here. Reading both rosters gives 152 exempt reporting advisers and 23 registered advisers.

9 robotics venture capital firms are on the roster more than once and listed once here. 46 trade publicly under a name that is not the filed entity, so both are given. Filed assets are self-reported once a year, so they lag.

A dash in a row means the stage or sector is undocumented, not absent.

## Pre-seed: 95 firms

These 95 write first cheques, usually before there is revenue. The largest are Future Ventures, Madrona Venture Group, Playground Global and RRE Ventures.

## Seed: 137 firms

137 firms will look at a company raising its seed. The largest are Redpoint Ventures, Greycroft, Emergence Capital and Initialized Capital Management.

## Early stage (Series A–B): 97 firms

These 97 firms invest once there is traction to underwrite. 22 of them back Big Data. The largest are S32, Deviation Capital, Geodesic Capital and Obvious Ventures.

## Growth and later: 75 firms

These 75 fund scale-up rounds and beyond. The largest are Linse Capital, Mithril Capital Management, Sosv and Safar Partners.

## All 168 firms

All 168 robotics firms are listed above, and most are wrong for you. Only 97 of them also back AI, and fewer still at your stage. Qubit’s [investor mapping](/startup-services/investor-mapping) builds a targeted list from your stage and sector.
